Dermal Fillers are a non-surgical treatment aimed at restoring the natural facial structure damaged by ageing. This treatment is aimed at filling out facial wrinkles and adding volume to hollow areas such as cheeks and lips. In all circumstances, dermal fillers are advised for restoration of a natural and reasonable facial rejuvenation results but not as an over-extenuating effect.

Dermal Fillers are considered an effective option for facial rejuvenation with their ability to target wrinkles and poor volume facial areas by filling or lifting. In addition to filling lips and cheeks, this treatment can be used for lifting eyebrows and mouth corners. Dermal fillers and lift are also used in areas such as the nose and chin.

There is currently an extensive range of dermal filler products and offer options for treating and correcting loss of volume in facial areas. Dermal Fillers also offer a degree of eyebrow lift required due to loss of volume.

Dermal Fillers are applied by injecting Hyaluronic acids into the targeted areas. Hyaluronic Acid is a substance found naturally in the body and is responsible for maintaining volume, facial contours as well as soften and hydrate facial areas and features. Given that the substance is a bio-identical to our own natural gel substance, the risks of allergic reactions to dermal fillers are very remote and minimal.

As there is an extensive range of dermal filler products on the market, it is essential that patients seek the advice and guidance of a qualified anti-wrinkle practitioner to assess the suitability of dermal fillers as an option and select the correct product, treatment technique and volume required to achieve the best facial rejuvenation results. Dermal Fillers can, of course, be applied in conjunction or as part of an overall treatment alongside anti-wrinkle injections. This is often the case where patients seek a complete anti-wrinkle treatment to restore their younger natural look. Our practitioners are qualified professionals who will take the time to tailor and provide you with the required treatment to achieve your desired look. What are dermal fillers or soft tissue enhancement and how does it work..?
Modern Dermal Fillers are bio-identical products to our own body’s gel substance which gives our skin its sponginess and hydration. Dermal Fillers are a non surgical procedure aimed at restoring volume of the face, restore or enhance the shape of the face as well as lift certain facial areas like eyebrows. Types of Dermal Fillers.
There are a number of Dermal Fillers product options on the Australian market. At Melbourne Anti-Wrinkle Injections, we use only reputable and quality dermal filler products with proven results. Dermal Fillers can last from 4 to 18 months depending on a number of factors that will be discussed you at the time of your consultation. We are unable to TGA regulations, we are unable to list the names or brands of dermal fillers products, however, we are to discuss your options with you direct.

There are two primary dermal filler types, Permanent Dermal Fillers and Temporary Dermal Fillers. We strongly recommend that clients start with temporary dermal filler injections to assess their suitability and the results achieved from their fillers before deciding on whether permanent fillers are a viable option. Permanent fillers are associated with some risks including the development of permanent lumps that can occur even after years of administering the permanent dermal filler injections. These lumps can only be removed with surgery.

The Anti-Wrinkle Injection and Dermal Filler products we use are bio-identical natural gels which minimises the risk of reactions or allergies.

Dermal Fillers vary in their thickness where the thicker products are known to last longer than those finer gels. The choice of dermal filler gel depends on the area where the filler is to be injected and the desired effect or result aimed for at the time of treatment.

Dermal filler may also contain Lidocaine which is a form of a local anaesthetic to help reduce the pain and discomfort during treatrment.

How is the Dermal Filler Injection procedure carried out..?
Initially, we will discuss your treatment options including the type of dermal fillers best suited for your case, the use of anaesthetic, the amount of fillers required to achieve optimum results, the cost of the treatment and the overall method and duration of the procedure.

The procedure always commences with cleaning the area with anti-septic solution. Where suitable, a local anaesthetic may be administered to reduce pain or discomfort. We may use ice to help with reducing discomfort if experienced. The dermal filler gel is then injected into the targeted areas using an extremly fine needle or cannula. Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the treatment, but generally, any minor pain or discomfort is often well tolerated.

Dermal Filler treatments duration can vary depending on the amounts of required dermal filler gel. Typically, treatments can take between 30 to 60 minutes to complete.

Can I resume normal activities after the treatment..?
In most cases, yes, you may resume normal activities and apply make-up where applicable. However, we often recommend that you avoid heavy activities and try to rest to achieve quicker recovery which helps optimise the treatment results.
How long do Dermal Filler treatments last..?
Dermal Fillers typically last for 4 to 18 months depending on the location of the fillers, the type of the fillers and the metabolism of the recipient. Dermal Fillers gels are gradually degraded by the body which, depending on the case, can take up to 18 months to completely degrade the gel.
